Society’s current and future needs
It’s not easy to know exactly what jobs will exist ten years from now. The world is changing fast – new careers are popping up, while others are disappearing. At the same time, technology keeps moving forward, and more and more companies are working internationally.
But there are some things we already know:
- Skilled craftspeople are needed more than ever. Now and in the future, there will be high demand for people with education in healthcare, building and construction, technology and industrial production, and electrical engineering and computer technology.
- Many people will change jobs several times during their life. That means you’ll need to be ready to learn new things along the way.
- Even traditional jobs are changing. Roles you might already know about often require new skills today.
What does this mean for you?
The most important thing is to become good at learning. If you know how to pick up new skills and work well with others, you’ll be in a strong position—no matter what you choose to do.
A solid upper secondary education gives you a great foundation. It makes it easier to understand theory and to handle new practical tasks later in life.
