How do you choose an education or vocation?
You choose education programmes as a 16-year-old. That is quite early, especially since your active vocational life does not start for another 3 to 5 years, perhaps not for another 10 years. In the meanwhile, while at upper secondary school, you will be making further choices. Thus it is important that the choices you make are your own, and that you make them on the basis of
- your hopes and dreams
- your abilities, aptitude and interests
- the best possible awareness of your educational and vocational options.
Take plenty of time to decide. Talk to your school guidance counsellor and to your parents or guardians before making a final decision. Nevertheless, the most important thing is that you take personal responsibility for your choices, and that you enjoy whatever training option you choose. There is no better motivation for learning.
