Free teaching aids and equipment
Schools may not require you to buy your own text books or your own computer. The scheme for free teaching aids and digital equipment will vary from county to county. Mainly schools will organize loan schemes for text books and laptops.
Some counties may offer you the opportunity to use your own computer and/or buy a computer in accordance with a special agreement. You will receive more detailed information about this before school starts.
The school may require you to acquire other personal equipment that is necessary for the teaching.
The scheme for free teaching aids does not apply to apprentices and training candidates.
Laptop
If the school organizes its teaching so that you must have a computer both at home and school, the school must provide you with a laptop. The school may then require you to pay a yearly premium for the laptop. This yearly premium cannot be higher than the lowest rate for the equipment grants. After leaving the upper secondary school you may keep such a PC.
If you do not complete your education or if you have not used the school–s laptop for three years, you are to be given the opportunity to buy the PC. Total payment may not be more than three times the lowest equipment grant rate, calculated at the time of drop-out.
